Find out as our inaugural barbeque competition matches the talents of barbeque cookers from throughout the Southeast. This is an MBA Points competition judged by the SC BBQ Association taking place at the Winthrop Lake area the last weekend of Come-See-Me 2008! On Friday, during Moonlight Jazz from 6:00-10:00pm, the public can purchase samples from our "Anything Butt" (no pork) competition. Celebrity Judges will not only judge entries for prizes, but will also tally the number of tickets purchased from this event to determine the People's Choice Award! Price: $1.00 per sample ticket (buy 10, get 2 free!) and will be available for purchase as soon as the judging has been completed (on sale at approximately 7:00pm and will last as long as items are available). The Come-See-Me BBQ Cook-off Teams will begin cooking Pork BBQ Butts for the Saturday competition. Before the Tailgate Party begins, teams will submit their entries to SC BBQ Association Judges and awards to the winning teams will be presented at 1:00pm. On Saturday, beginning at 3:00pm, the public
can purchase pork barbeque to enjoy with their buns and fixins’ during the
Tailgate Party. Barbeque is based on the total number of teams, so make your purchase early. There will be several BBQ sale stations around Winthrop Lake. Proceeds from sale of BBQ to benefit The Worthy Boys & Girls Camp as a service project by the York County Law Enforcement volunteers. Coca Cola products will be available for purchase and those proceeds will benefit the Crescent Shrine Club. More competition & team info ...
